WESTERN PA LIONS EYE PROSTHESIS PROGRAM
Dr. Walter Tillman of Pittsburgh has continued the tradition of his father before him to provide at least two free eye prosthesis cases per year to needy individuals qualified by the Lions. On a case-by-case basis, he may also offer his services as a reduced rate to those with limited means or insurance coverage to pay a portion.
It is up to the Eye Prosthesis Chairperson to verify the financial need of the individual, often with the aid of Lions in the patient’s town or district. Forms used for qualifying recipients for free eyeglasses works fairly well, but the criteria may be a little more relaxed given the cost of the eye prosthesis.
District Chair for this program is Lion James Brubaker, PDG. If you need this cabinet chair’s information please use our CONTACT FORM and it will be EMailed to you.
