Third Cabinet Meeting of Lions District 14-B

All Lions, Leos and Lioness are urged to attend these meetings.
Club Presidents and Secretarys are required to attend these meetings so that they can be updated on current District affairs.

Zone and Cabinet Committee Chairs are reminded that reports must be submitted to Cabinet Secretary if you are not attending by Wednesday, February 15th.

If you are attending you must R.S.V.P District Activities Coordinator Roberta Kacinko by Wednesday, February 15th

PA Lions State Convention Coming UP!

Pennsylvania Lions State Convention will be here before you know it. The 14-C committee has a very full schedule for you in Gettysburg and we hope that you are planning to attend. The regis-tration packets are in the mail to the clubs and you should already have them or you will by the middle of January. Look them over and sign up for the meals and events that you want to attend.

The Eisenhower farm tour will leave the information center at 9:30 AM on Friday and will be back at the center at 11:30 AM. The information center is only 10 minutes from the Hotel so you can make the 12:00 lunch to hear our speaker, Pennsylvania’s own Past President Joseph Wroblewski.

The Thursday night Ghost tour will start downtown at Nesbit tours right after it gets dark. The tours last about 1 ½ hours and special pins are included in the $10.00 price. The ladies get the White Ghost and the men get the Grey Ghost. The walking tour covers about 6 to 7 blocks. When you return, the hospitality rooms will be open for your enjoyment. Don’t miss this op-portunity to have fun.

If you don’t sign up for this one, you will just have to listen to the story and not be part of it.

On Saturday, the Ladies/Lioness breakfast will start at 7:00 AM. The “Presidents meet the President” will be at 9:00 AM followed by a great presentation on “Everything I know about Lions I learned at the Zoo” by PCC Terry Goodman of New Hampshire. The Penn-sylvania Lions All-State Band will perform at noon. Ladonna Gatlin will be next from 1:30 to 3:00. Then the All-State Band will play for an hour before the Banquet which starts with a 6:00 social and dinner at 7:00.

The tables for the Banquet are for 10 instead of 8. No problem, all you need is one more couple to fill you table. The tables are extra large so you will have plenty of room.

When you get the regis-tration form, please fill it out and be sure to sign up for each event and meal that you want to attend then send it in with your payment. The reason for this is easy. Gettysburg College graduation is also the same weekend and after our deadline we cannot guarantee you a room.

Beacon Lodge 500 Club

It’s that time of the year again. A time to either join or renew your yearly membership in the PA Lions Beacon Lodge “500 Club.” This is an opportunity for each Lion, Lioness and Leo to make a personal contribution to help with repairs and maintenance of the camp. Since it began in 1992 as the “365 Club,” and later changed to the “500 Club” in 2007 due to increased costs. Over the years many clubs keep renewing their membership and most, are coming in at 100% in our district. With your participation this trend will continue.

The “500 Club” is based on a personal donation of $5.00 per member per year. While some clubs do approach their members for a personal contribution, others take their total number of club members, multiply by $5.00 and strike a check for that amount from their Activity/Charity Account. Lifetime Membership is available at $100.00 a member.

Brentwood Lions Thanks Volunteers

Santa and the Brentwood Lions would like to thank each and every one of you for your generous time and help with our breakfast on Saturday. A special thanks to our 2 Leo’s for their help in keeping the kids organized while they were waiting to see Santa and for also helping to hand out goodie bags to the kids. Thanks to the mom’s who also came and helped us out.

Without your help, we would never have been able to pull this off and by you doing so, we were able to double our donation to the Brentwood Food Pantry. You have made a difference in our community and we truly appreciate it! Lions are indeed a precious gift to our communities.
